Police have renewed their search efforts after finding new evidence in the case of a 27-year-old who disappeared from a popular fishing hole.

Jack McLennan’s mum Kellie Moody has made an impassioned plea for volunteers to help in the ground search for her son after police found new evidence.
The 27-year-old man was last seen about 10pm on October 4 at the Ficks Crossing fishing hole near Murgon.
His disappearance prompted a large search and rescue operation that uncovered personal items at separate locations.
A pair of shoes was found at Ficks Crossing while Jack’s hat was found in Murgon.
Ms Moody did not say what the newly uncovered items were, other than that they were Jack’s.
“They were found about 3km from Ficks Crossing,” she said.
“We know that Jack had been around that Ficks area and his phone ran out of charge at about 10.30pm.
“It would have been pitch black out there and he would have been turned around.”
The items were found last weekend leading police and SES volunteers to conduct a fresh land search.
Ms Moody said she believed Jack was trying to get back to his car, which was parked in Murgon.
To help with the search police have released CCTV footage of Jack attending a bottle shop in Wondai on the day he disappeared, while in the company of another man.
While police suspended the ground search after several weeks, Ms Moody has kept up her effort, supported by community members.
She has asked anyone with some spare time to help out in the next few days so they can capitalise on the fresh lead.
“To be honest, everyday has been miserable,” she said.
“We are appealing to more men on bikes and horses to help out this Saturday.
“We are also appealing for people with drones.
“There is a fair bit of ground to cover and I must say looking at the bush each day brings heartache and despair for our family.”
Volunteers willing to help out are asked to meet up at Ficks Crossing or to search properties on Ferris Rd.
