1. Charity golf day
Saturday
THE Nanango Golf Club will honour former member Ernie Stubbs with a memorial day with all proceeds to be donated to the Breast and Prostate Cancer Council.
Players will take to the course for a three-person ambrose from 10.30am.
Golfers and non-golfers are encouraged to take part in the social day with a raffle and novelty prizes on offer.
2. Ride for Prostate Cancer awareness
Saturday
CAR and bike clubs will come together to celebrate and support Phill Bridges on his national bike ride to raise awareness for prostate cancer.
A car and bike show will be held at Aces Auto Shop Kingaroy from 11am.
3. Proston rally
Saturday and Sunday
CAR lovers will flock to the Proston car rally club on Proston Boondooma Rd for the club’s November khanacross.
Held across two days, drivers will set out to record the fastest time on the course from 11am before the burnouts start from 6pm.
Racing will conclude at approximately 2pm on Sunday.
4. Romance of Run
Saturday
SOUTH Burnett residents will have the chance to see the 1928 silent movie Romance Of Runnibede at Barambah Station.
The movie is based on a book by Steele Rudd with a copy available to be watched unlike many other silent movies of that time.
The movie, which featured Hollywood actress Eva Novak alongside Murgon and Cherbourg residents, was filmed in the region and will be screened from 5.30pm.
5. Photographic exhibition on display
Saturday and Sunday
DISCOVER the physical and psychological consequences of war at Kingaroy Art Gallery’s latest exhibition.
The exhibition entitled Recovering the Past is touring internationally and will be in Kingaroy until the end of November after it opened on Friday night.
Photo enthusiasts will have the chance to see 25 images that show the physical and psychological consequences of the war on Australian society.
The Kingaroy Art Gallery is open from 9am-1pm on Saturday and Sunday.
