Winnie the South African Boerboel named Burnett’s cutest dog

“She’s the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen”: Find out which adorable dog was voted the Burnett region’s cutest.

North and South Burnett dog lovers sent in more than 150 photos of their furry friends, and after handing it over to the readers to decide, the cutest dog across region has been named.

Taking out the number 1 spot is Winnie the South African Boerboel.

Owner Nikki Fennell, who submitted 2-year-old Winnie’s photo, said she bought the beautiful pup to keep her other dog company.

“We’ve got a male as well and we wanted to get him a girlfriend,” Ms Fennell laughed.

“She’s the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen, but she’ll boss him around.”

Bringing her up from NSW at just 8-weeks-old, Ms Fennell said her big girl already looked like a full grown dog at the time.

Despite weighing 65 kilograms, Ms Fennell said Winnie still think she’s little, and will squash you under the weight of her affectionate cuddles.
