Six individuals proudly received their Australian citizenship during a special ceremony at Wednesday’s South Burnett Regional Council ordinary meeting.
The event, held during a break in the council proceedings, was led by Mayor Kathy Duff.
The new citizens were accompanied by their families who helped mark the occasion with heartfelt applause and embraces.
After the formalities, attendees sang the national anthem, followed by enthusiastic chants of “Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi,” adding to the celebration’s lively and spirited atmosphere.
Peter Ponce, Ronald Foune, Amanaki Lolohea, Samantha Thompson, Roselyn Algabre and Siphrai Burr were those celebrating their citizenship.
