SENIOR’S trip to the Cooper’s Gap wind farm has led to the group giving $1200 to Lifeflight.

Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club president Gordon Glode presented the cheque to Lifeflight representative Geoff Clements on Monday, December 2.

“I hope that this cheque will be of use, to maybe buy some pens or bandages,” Mr Glode said.

Mr Clements said the money will be put to use, as a lifeflight patient is never charged.

Each flight is funded by the Government, donations and supported by RACQ.

“Your money will go straight to the front line where it’s needed,” he said.

“It’s not just out in the country where the service is needed, it’s everywhere,” he said.

Mr Clements said it was amazing the support Lifeflight receives.

“It’s quite amazing the people who have been rescued by Lifeflight, they’re so grateful,” he said.

This was made possible after the seniors group went on a field trip funded by AGL to the wind farm on August 29.

Kingaroy Senior Citizens asked members going on the field trip to donate $20, and as a result they raised $1200.

AGL representative Sharyn Garrett said it was really nice to see the community support shared around.

“AGL is really happy to support the community, this initiative by Gordon is to be applauded,” she said.

Mr Glode said it was an enjoyable day trip which included lunch at Bell cafe Pips’ N’ Cherries.

“It was an excellent lunch, it really made my day,” he said.
