The streets of Kingaroy were lined with reverence and remembrance as hundreds gathered to pay tribute to Australia and New Zealand’s veterans on Anzac Day 2024.
The Anzac Day parade was a vibrant display of community spirit, with various schools, organisations, and families coming together to honour those who served and sacrificed for their nation.
Students and staff from several schools marched in the parade, including Kingaroy State School and High School.
The music of the Kingaroy State High School band filled the air, adding a poignant soundtrack to the proceedings.
Building to be removed for new development in Kingaroy
Joining the march were students from Saint Mary’s Catholic College, St John’s Lutheran School, and Kindergarten, Taabinga State School, Coolabunia State School and the South Burnett Child Care and Kindergarten, each contributing to the collective tribute with their distinctive presence.
The Girl Guides, embodying the spirit of service and camaraderie, marched alongside members of the Queensland Fire and Rescue, symbolising the ongoing commitment to community welfare and safety.
A highlight of the parade was the marching bagpipe band echoing through the streets of Kingaroy.
Relatives of veterans adorned with their loved ones’ medals marched alongside the procession, a testament to the sacrifices made by their family members in service to their country.

Anzac Day in Kingaroy served as a poignant reminder that while the passage of time may dim the memories, the spirit of Anzac endures, cherished and commemorated by generations past, present, and future.
