Shots fired, man hospitalised in Berserker, Rockhampton

A man is in hospital after a shooting drama in a Rockhampton home in the same street of a previous incident last month.

A 40-year-old man is in hospital after a shooting at a Rockhampton house this afternoon.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said he was taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition with a leg injury.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman confirmed the leg injury was the result of a gunshot.

She said police were called at 12.30pm to the Peter Street address after receiving reports of shots being fired.

“A man has sustained minor injuries and a crime scene has been declared at 12.55pm,” the spokeswoman said.

Investigations are underway.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said QPS called QAS to the scene.

This shooting comes after a man is understood to have been shot in the arm in the same street last month.

The 41-year-old man was allegedly shot at night on February 21.

Emergency services were called about 7.30pm on February 21 after reports gunshots were heard on Peter St, Berserker, and police blocked Peter St off at Water St behind the Kalka Hotel, and declared a crime scene.

Just after 7.35pm, a man attended Rockhampton Hospital with a gunshot wound.

On Saturday, a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said it was believe those involved in the incident were known to each other and there was no ongoing threat to the public.

The police spokeswoman also revealed the police investigations include a review of CCTV footage.

On February 21, several residents reported hearing four gunshots that night.
