A Rockhampton teenager accused of entering people’s homes and stealing cars and keys allegedly robbed a woman and chased her with a knife as well as graffitied “f—k the victims” on stolen cars.

The Rockhampton Magistrates Court heard Tana Jack Williams, 18, started his alleged crime spree on December 13, racking up 21 charges in just over a week.

Mr Williams was charged with seven counts of enter dwelling and commit, five counts of unlawful use of motor vehicles, three counts of stealing, and one count of robbery with actual violence armed/in company/wounded/used personal violence.

He was further charged with one count of enter dwelling with intent, enter premises and commit indictable offence, enter premises and commit indictable offence by break, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property and wilful damage.

He applied for bail in court on December 22, which was opposed by police prosecutor Corey O’Connor.

Mr O’Connor said it was “particularly concerning” that Mr Williams allegedly entered a woman’s home armed with a knife then chased her with the weapon and stole her purse and car keys.

He said Mr Williams was also alleged to have graffitied “f—k the victims” on stolen cars.

Magistrate Cameron Press said it was alleged Mr Williams entered a property in Lammermoor and stole keys and a vehicle.

Mr Williams’ solicitor, Pierre Lammersdorf, said the robbery charge was the most serious offence before the court and that he had some concerns regarding the strength of the Crown case.

“It is not particularised what, if any, forensic examination was made, also how the identification comes about,” he said.

“Ultimately, for these matters to reach the District Court it will take a significant period of time.

“I would submit the risk could be mitigated by imposing a strict curfew condition and also have him be subject to an ankle bracelet, as well as undergoing regular drug and alcohol checks by police as required.”

Mr Press refused to grant Mr Williams bail, stating, “He represents an unacceptable risk of committing further offences and endangering the safety and welfare of people.”

Mr Williams was remanded in custody with his matters adjourned to February 21, 2024.
