A former Rockhampton massage therapist accused of raping, sexually assaulting and filming or photographing the genitals of three female clients will fight some of the allegations.

Shao-wei Wu is charged with one count of rape, two counts of sexual assault and two counts of breaching privacy by filming or photographing genital or anal areas.

The alleged offending took place at Essential Massage where Mr Wu worked at the time.

His bail conditions included being prohibited from working in the industry.

During a mention in Rockhampton District Court on April, the court heard Mr Wu intended to fight some of the allegations.

Defence lawyer Grant Cagney said Mr Wu would be pleading guilty to some charges and not guilty to the others.

He said there was likely to be an application to have the charges split up.

“There are separate complainants in many of the charges,” Mr Cagney said.

“They are all in the course of his employment, so they are not completely unrelated.

“There’s different types of charges in terms of observations as opposed to acts.

“It’s the physical acts that are to be contested.”

During the committal hand up, police prosecution supplied the court with witness statements of the three alleged victims, the partner of one of the victims and three police officers.

They also handed up photographs of two of the victims, the underpants of one of the alleged victims, CCTV footage, a copy of a search warrant, receipts, and documents about forensic examination of a mobile phone.

Mr Wu’s matters have been adjourned until April 22.
