The women accused of being responsible for leaving a child inside a childcare centre bus for six hours will be sentenced next month.
Bianca Maree Reynolds, 31, and Tara Alyce Steers, 30, are each charged with one count of grievous bodily harm.
Police allege the women picked up a child, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, about 8.30am on May 4, and drove to a childcare centre at Gracemere where they parked the bus and left the child inside the vehicle.
It is further alleged another staff member drove the bus to a school at Gracemere, about 2.45pm, and observed the child unconscious in the back of the vehicle.
The child was unconscious and was taken into the centre where staff began CPR and emergency services were called.
She was in a critical condition, taken to Rockhampton Hospital and then flown to Brisbane for treatment at the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
She has since recovered and returned home.
Rockhampton District Court was provided an update on the case on June 19 with a sentence date scheduled for both Ms Reynolds and Ms Steers – July 26, 2023.
Both women are subject to bail conditions.
