A teenager busted with 105g of marijuana in his car told police he used the drugs for smoking and selling.

Here’s a list of people who have pleaded guilty recently in Central Queensland courts to drug offending.

Yeppoon Magistrates Court

Dominic Lee Bayzand, 18

Dominic Lee Bayzand was found with 105g of marijuana when he was stopped while driving on Ocean Park Avenue, Yeppoon, on October 6.

Police prosecutor Kevin Ongheen told Yeppoon Magistrates Court Bayzand admitted smoking weed on the weekend, and using it every other weekend.

Sergeant Ongheen said Bayzand told police the marijuana found in the vehicle was his and he used it for smoking and selling, with his friends calling him when he wanted marijuana.

Police also found a flick-knife in the glovebox, a bong, clip-seal bags, set of digital scales, two grinders and a mobile phone.

Bayzand told police the $905 they found in his wallet was obtained by selling marijuana.

He claimed the knife was from when he was doing a plumbing apprenticeship, and denied it has been used outside of work.

Defence lawyer Stephanie Nicholas said her client, who worked as a concreter and had no criminal history, was fortunate he had not been charged with more serious offending.

Ms Nicholas read a letter from her client to the court.

“I sincerely regret and accept my foolish conduct regarding the possession charges,” Ms Nicholas read to the court on behalf of Bayzand.

“I am ashamed and embarrassed that I have caused extreme stress and worry to my mum and dad and extended family.”

Bayzand pleaded guilty to one count each of possessing a knife in public, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, possessing dangerous drugs, and possessing suspected proceeds of a drug offence.

Bayzand was fined $1000, ordered to complete drug diversion, and placed on a $1000 good behaviour bond for six months.

No criminal convictions were recorded.

Lisa Marie Williams, 56

Lisa Marie Williams pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on November 17 to producing marijuana and possessing equipment used in the commissioning of a crime.

Police prosecutor Stacey Bain said police executed a search warrant at Williams’ Archer Street home at Emu Park in October.

Ms Bain said police found a grow-tent and nine potted marijuana plants about 10cm tall.

Williams told police she fertilised and watered the plants, and that they were for her personal use.

The prosecutor said the grow tent contained an exhaust fan set-up and lighting.

Kelsey Leneece Cranston, 30, was busted with 45g of marijuana when police searched her home in Byfield On November 23.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Kevin Ongheen said along with a shoebox containing the marijuana, police also found a bong made out of a tomato sauce bottle in Cranston’s bedroom.

Defence lawyer Stephanie Nicholas said the marijuana was for her client’s personal use.

Cranston pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on December 8 to one count each of possessing utensils or pipes that had been used and possessing dangerous drugs.

Cranston was fined $1000.

Nat Johnson, 41

Nat Johnson, 41, produced marijuana at his home on Byfield Road, Byfield, which was searched by police on November 23.

Johnson pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on December 8 to one count each of possessing utensils or pipes for use, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, possessing dangerous drugs and producing dangerous drugs.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Kevin Ongheen said Johnson declared two marijuana plants about 60cm high.

Johnson told police he grew the plants for his partner because she had epilepsy.

He said police went to a trailer on the property where they found five marijuana seedlings, which were being produced in an insulated grow tent with heat lamps and an exhaust fan.

He said police searched the home and found four containers of marijuana seeds, as well as a brown paper bag containing marijuana.

Defence lawyer Stephanie Nicholas said her client’s partner had since been prescribed medicinal marijuana and he had no further plans to grow the drug.

Johnson was fined $1300.

Biloela Magistrates Court

Eric John Fuller, 60

Eric John Fuller pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on December 7 to producing marijuana and possessing property used in connection with a drug crime.

Police prosecutor Constable Charlize Spain said police executed a search warrant at a Monto residence in October.

Ms Spain said officers found a hydroponic system in a room and numerous marijuana plants.

The court heard Fuller was a disability pensioner who was prescribed medicinal cannabis, but grew his own to supplement it.

The 60-year-old, who had no previous drug history, was fined $750.

No conviction was recorded.

Kenneth Bruce Prigg, 47

Kenneth Bruce Prigg pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on December 14 to possessing marijuana and a drug utensil.

Police prosecutor Kelvin Boyd said police executed a search warrant at a Biloela residence in September and found 11g of cannabis and a metal pipe.

The court heard that Prigg was receiving Jobseeker allowance and had one previous drug offence in the past five years.

The 47-year-old was placed on probation for 10 months.

Kylie Maree O’Sullivan, 44

Kylie Maree O’Sullivan pleaded guilty to producing marijuana after a police raid on her Monto home.

The court heard that during the October search, police found three small marijuana plants on the mother of two’s front veranda.

O’Sullivan told police she had another five plants growing at her partner’s place,with those plants later located by police and seized.

The plants were all about 20cm tall.

The court heard O’Sullivan had a four-page criminal history, which included drug offending.

Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale fined O’Sullivan $600 and a conviction was recorded.

Benn Anderson, 42

Benn Anderson pleaded guilty in court on November 9 to possessing marijuana and drug utensils, as well as contravening a police requirement.

Police executed a search warrant at a Biloela residence on September 24, finding 10g of marijuana, 12g of marijuana resin, 6g of marijuana stems and 34 seed.

During the search, officers found 10g of cannabis, 12g of resin, 6g of stems, 34 seeds, three water pipes, and a grinder.

Solicitor Richard Parks said Anderson worked at an oil recovery company and was in the process of trying to get a prescription.

Anderson was fined $900.

Tait James Hamilton, 50

Tait James Hamilton pleaded guilty in court on November 9 to possessing a drug utensil.

The court heard that on October 9 at 11pm, police were patrolling on Valentine Plains Road, Biloela, when they saw Hamilton standing on the edge of the road in darkness.

During a search, police found a glass bong.

Hamilton, who had four pages of history, was fined $300.

Brock Daniel Mcquillan, 31

Brock Daniel Mcquillan pleaded guilty to possessing marijuana and a drug utensil.

The court heard police executed a search warrant at a Biloela residence on September 29 and found Mcquillan in possession of 1.5g of the drug and a bong.

An unemployed Mcquillan, who has four pages of history, was fined $550.

Johnathon James Hopkins pleaded guilty in court on November 9 to possessing marijuana and drug utensils.

The court heard police searched a Biloela residence on July 30 and found Hopkins with 0.2g of the drug, a water pipe and set of scales.

The disability pensioner was fined $300.

Harlan Waero Fry, 24

Harlan Waero Fry pleaded guilty to possessing drug utensils while on probation for supply charges.

The court heard police searched a Biloela residence on September 30 and found Fry in possession of a bong and a grinder.

The court was told Fry, a father of three who was looking for work, was on probation for drug supply charges.

Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale fined him $250.

Matthew David Eglinton, 42

Matthew David Eglinton pleaded guilty in court on November 9 to possessing marijuana and a drug utensil.

The court heard police raided a Monto property on October 22 and found Eglinton in possession of 20g of marijuana and a bong.

The disability pensioner, who has a seven page criminal history that including drug offending, told police he had a prescription for medicinal cannabis but had run out.

He was fined $400.
