13 traffic offenders face Biloela Magistrates Court

A learner driver with cannabis in her system was among the latest traffic offenders to face Biloela Magistrates Court. Here’s who else got busted.

Police call drink drivers "selfish pricks"

The following people pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on October 26 to traffic offences.

Grant John Ronnfeldt, 41, blew a reading of .106 when he was caught drink-driving on Kariboe Street, Biloela, on October 10.

Ronnfeldt told Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale that losing his licence would not affect his employment but it would impact his ability as a group leader for the State Emergency Service.

With no offending of this sort in the past five years, Ronnfeldt was fined $650 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Sean Courtney Chick, 39, blew a reading of .097 when he was caught drink-driving on the Moranbah Access Rd, at Moranbah, on August 29.

Solicitor Richard Parks said Chick worked as a contractor in the mines and the court heard that he had no offending of this sort in the past five years.

Chick was fined $500, disqualified from driving for three months, and he successfully applied for a restricted work licence.

Damien Lindsay Fuller, 46, was caught driving with cannabis in his system on Ninth Avenue, Theodore, on September 2.

With no similar offending on his traffic history, Fuller was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Zane Michael Anderson, 28, was caught driving with cannabis in his system while on a probationary licence, on the Leichhardt Highway at Banana, on July 30.

The court heard that this was Anderson’s fourth drug-driving offence in the past five years and that he was currently unemployed.

Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale placed him on 12 months’ probation with conditions, and disqualified him from driving for six months.

Lechelle Anne Corbett, 34, was caught driving with cannabis in her system on the Leichhardt Highway at Wowan, on July 28.

The court heard that Corbett was a single mother of five and with no previous offending of this sort, she was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Joel Jeffery Hobson, 31, blew a reading of .102 when he was caught drink-driving on the Dawson Highway at Biloela on October 21.

The court heard that Hobson had no relevant traffic history and he was fined $650 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Brooke Leanne Lockman, 24, was caught driving with cannabis in her system on the Dawson Highway on August 25.

The court heard that Lockman was a mother of two and with no similar offending on her traffic history, she was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Matthew Arthur Briggs, 49, was caught driving while SPER suspended on the Dawson Highway at Banana on August 20.

Solicitor Madison Kurtz said Briggs was not aware his driver’s licence was suspended at the time.

With no prior offending of this sort, Briggs, a service manager, was fined $75 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Learner’s licence holder Char-Lee Faith Newman, 18, was caught driving with cannabis in her system on Kroombit Street, Biloela, on September 5.

With no previous offending of this sort, Newman was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Ashley John-Ross Mason, 34, was caught driving while SPER suspended on Newton Street, Monto, on September 23.

With no offending of this sort on his traffic history, Mason was fined $300 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Allan Rinaldis, 47, was caught driving with methamphetamine in his system on Dee Street, Biloela, on August 14.

The court heard that Rinaldis had drug offending on his criminal history and previous drug-driving offending on his traffic history in the past five years.

He was fined $550 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Eilanni Capelle, 26, was caught driving while SPER suspended on the Dawson Highway at Mount Alma on September 17.

She was fined $150 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Scott Anthony Kenny, 53, pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on October 26 to possessing cannabis and drug-driving with cannabis in his system.

He was placed on a six-month good behaviour order with a $500 recognisance, fined $350, and disqualified from driving for one month.
