These people pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court this month to either drink-driving or drug-driving offences.

December 16:

Nathan Glen Guley, 46, blew a reading of 0.111 after he was pulled over on Jeffries St, Yeppoon, on November 28.

The court heard the Department of Corrective Services worker had no previous history.

Magistrate Cameron Press noted that Guley had a “very good traffic record” before fining him $650 and disqualifying him from driving for three months.

P-plater Sarah Louise Jacobsen, 23, blew a reading of 0.146 on Byfield Road on November 26.

Police intercepted Jacobsen about 10pm and she told officers she had been drinking punch which had an unknown amount of alcohol in it.

Jacobsen told Magistrate Cameron Press that she was “most disappointed” with her actions.

She was fined $600 and disqualified from driving for five months.

Shannon John McLure, 43, was caught drink-driving for the second time this year when police intercepted him on the Scenic Highway at Mulambin on December 1.

McLure, who is unemployed, blew a reading of 0.147.

The court heard that McLure had a previous drink-driving offence in June when he blew 0.099.

Magistrate Cameron Press told McLure: “There is a problem and you must address that problem.”

He placed McLure on 12 months’ probation with conditions including alcohol counselling and disqualified him from driving for nine months.

Jodi Lee Beardsmore, 40, was caught driving with methamphetamine in her system on Farnborough Road on October 3.

She was on a probationary licence at the time.

She was fined $450 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Sarah Richelle Woolley, 20, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath after police stopped her on the Scenic Highway at Mulambin on December 4.

With no history, the waitress was fined $750 and disqualified from driving for seven months.

Sarah Ann Roberts, 41, was caught driving on Whitman Street, Yeppoon, on October 9 without an interlock device on her vehicle as required.

She pleaded guilty to that charge, as well as charges of unlicensed driving and failing to provide a specimen of breath. All offences happened on the same day.

Roberts was fined a total of $1500 and disqualified from driving for three years and one month.

Lance Stewart Hawke, 45, was caught high-range drink-driving on the Scenic Highway at Yeppoon on November 30.

In court, the prosecution was not able to tender a certificate with a blood alcohol reading, but Hawke accepted that his reading was over 0.150 as the high-range charge indicated.

Hawke was fined $1000 and disqualified from driving for 10 months.

December 2:

Mark John Anderson, 44, was caught drink-driving at Yeppoon on October 27 when he returned a reading of 0.053.

With no similar offending in the past five years, Anderson was fined $450 and disqualified from driving for two months.

Christopher Peter Bird, 34, was caught driving with cannabis in his system when police stopped him on Kinka Beach Road on September 26.

With no history, Bird was fined $450 and disqualified from driving for two months.
