Bruce Aaron Oldfield-Johnson accused of the murder of Kenneth Geary
The reason for delays in the case against a Queensland teen charged with the murder of a “hardworking labourer” has been revealed.

Evidence against a teen who allegedly murdered a beloved 58-year-old father remains outstanding more than one year after the man’s death.
Bruce Aaron Oldfield-Johnson, now 19, was charged with the murder of Kenneth Geary in Emerald in 2023, when he was 18.
Police allege Mr Geary was found unresponsive following a disturbance between the pair, who were known to each other, at a Loch St address about 11pm on March 10, 2023.
Police took Mr Oldfield-Johnson into custody that night and he was later released, but was formally charged at the Emerald Police Station on March 16, 2023 and denied police bail.
Mr Oldfield-Johnson’s matter was mentioned in Emerald Magistrate Court on June 11, when it was adjourned to July 23.
His matter was adjourned to July 23, with more material from the police brief of evidence to come.
Mr Oldfield-Johnson was remanded in custody.
Mr Geary lived in Emerald and had two daughters, Roslyn Anderson and Dakota.
His eldest daughter Roslyn, who lived in Rockhampton, told this publication her dad was a humble, happy and “very hardworking man” employed as a labourer in Emerald and as a stockman in his teenage years.
She said her father “loved the death out of” his two dogs, KG and Bonnie.
“He never had a bad bone in his body,” she said.
