A man who lost his life in a Central Queensland town on Friday night has been remembered as a hard-working man who loved his dogs and “never had a bad bone in his body”.

Kenneth John Geary, 58, died at a home on Loch Street in Emerald on March 10, 2023, with a homicide investigation launched over his sudden death.

Police had taken an 18-year-old man into custody, however, have since released him without charge.

Kenneth lived in Emerald and had two daughters, Roslyn Anderson and Dakota.

His eldest daughter Roslyn, who lives in Rockhampton, told this publication her dad was a “very hard-working man” who worked as a labourer in Emerald and was a stockman in his teenage years.

“He worked every day, even on the weekends,” she said.

“He would like to go home and have a coldie.”

She said her dad had two dogs, KG and Bonnie, that he “loved the death out of”.

She said her dad was a humble and happy man.

“He never had a bad bone in his body,” she said.

“He would tell stories and keep everyone in the family around him happy.”

She said some of her fondest memories of her dad was when she would sit down as a child and watching him play the guitar.

“I love him and will keep him in my memory until we meet again,” she said.

“Wherever he is on the other side I hope he is at peace and in paradise.”

Kenneth’s eldest grandson Jahleal Anderson had written some words for his pop he wanted to share.

“I can’t describe how much I miss you,” he said.

“I will never forget you.

“I wish I got to see you one more time.

“I love you pop.”
