See the list of more than five new businesses opening in Rockhampton and Gracemere, some with jobs still on offer.

A clothing store, pop-up Christmas shops, a takeaway shop and an ethnic cuisine restaurant are among some of the new businesses to create a presence in the Rockhampton region recently.

EDGE CLOTHING

Edge Clothing sells mens, women’s and children’s clothing from popular brands including Stussy, All About Eve, Silent Theory, Tommy Hilfiger, Wrangler, Levi and more.

The Geelong-based company is opening a store in Stockland Rockhampton, next to Timezone.

With more than 40 locations across Australia and New Zealand, it will be seventh store for the company in Queensland, with the other stores in southeast Queensland, Cairns and Townsville.

Jobs for the store have been posted online on Seek.com.au.

Dotti Clothing has recently undergone renovations at Stockland and reopen on Saturday (November 6).

The hunt has already begun for Christmas casuals at a number of the retail stores in the shopping centre with signs in shop windows and jobs advertised online.

EAST STREET CHRISTMAS SHOPS AND MORE

Reid & Rose newsagency opened a pop-up Christmas shop next door to its East Street, Rockhampton store on Monday.

The store has a wide range of luxury Christmas goods from florals to decorations, displays and more.

Silly Solly’s has also opened a Christmas store, Santaland’ just down the street from its East Street store, selling all kinds of festive products at bargain prices.

Meanwhile, construction is well underway at 55 East Street for the new Chemist Warehouse store which is set to open in a few weeks.

The chemist was forced to move after a storm destroyed its former building last month.

A new restaurant will also open soon in the former TruFusion building at 137 East Street.

Royal Punjabi Tandoori Indian Restaurant is looking for a cook, kitchen hand, waitstaff and staff manager.

The former Archer Brothers Coffee and Bar has recently been leased however the new lesee is yet to be revealed.

The cafe closed during COVID-19 and was listed for rent for $40,000 per annum.

THE HIDEOUT TAKEAWAY

A takeaway store has opened at 2/7 Lawrie Street, Gracemere, next to the park on the main street.

The menu offers typical fish and chip store products from hot chips to works burgers, crumbed sausages, chicken nuggets and more.
