A young man who was flown to hospital after his ute crashed into a tree near a remote Central Queensland town has been transferred to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Emergency crews were called to the single-vehicle crash on Fitzroy Development Rd near Valkyrie about 10.32pm.
The CapRescue helicopter was also tasked to the incident where a ute had crashed into a tree.
The man in his 20s was freed from the vehicle and treated by paramedics on scene for a broken leg, facial injuries and suspected spinal injuries.
He was flown to Rockhampton Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service spokeswoman said on Monday that he had been transferred to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
A Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital spokeswoman said the patient remained in hospital in a stable condition.
It was the second crash in the space of a few hours requiring the CapRescue helicopter, with the crew called to a single-vehicle crash at Westwood on the Leichhardt Highway Saturday afternoon.
