A man has been seriously injured after he fell from a moving car in Rockhampton on Saturday night.
Paramedics and police were called to the incident at North Street Extended about 9.28pm.
Queensland Ambulance Service said the man suffered arm and facial injuries.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the injured 21-year-old man, of West Rockhampton, was a back seat passenger in the car being driven by a 27-year-old Frenchville woman.
The QPS spokeswoman said the car was travelling south-west on North St Extended and was approaching the intersection of Lund St when “the rear passenger has exited the vehicle while the vehicle was still moving at speed.”
The QPS spokeswoman said at this stage, there were no indications as to why the male passenger exited the moving car.
“There will be no action taken against the driver because there’s been no offences identified,” the QPS spokeswoman said.
Police confirmed the driver and the passenger were the only two people in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
QAS said the injured man was taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition and a QPS spokeswoman said the man’s health had since “declined.”
A Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service spokeswoman on Monday, June 12, said the man was in a critical but stable condition.
