Machine Creek crash: Paramedics treat five in Bruce Highway crash

A man and four children have been taken to hospital following a crash on the Bruce Highway between Rockhampton and Gladstone.

A man has been flown to hospital following a crash on the Bruce Highway between Rockhampton and Gladstone.

Paramedics were called to the incident at Machine Creek about 9.48am where a car crashed into a ditch.

A spokesman for Queensland Ambulance Service said paramedics were assessed five people.

He said a man in 40s was in a serious condition with chest and head injuries.

The man was flown to Rockhampton Hospital by the RACQ CapRescue helicopter.

Four children were taken to Gladstone Hospital and all were in stable conditions.

A spokesman for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said one crew was on scene.

He said the crew was working to control a fuel leak.
