Man charged with armed robbery, enter with intent at Rochedale South

A man, 28, has been charged with multiple offences after allegedly breaking into a house south of Brisbane armed with a knife. SEE THE ARREST

A 28-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly threatened a resident while armed with a knife south of Brisbane.

The man was allegedly involved in a break and enter in Belconnen St, Rochedale South, just before 11.20am on Monday.

Police said a 73-year-old man interrupted the 28-year-old who threatened him while armed, before leaving the scene on foot.

The 73-year-old followed the alleged offender, while a 69-year-old woman called police.

Police found the man nearby and took him into custody.

A 28-year-old Waterford West man was charged with entering dwelling with intent, armed robbery and wilful damage.

He was remanded in custody and was next expected to appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on April 22.
