Massive peak-hour rail delays as train breaks down

A broken down train has sparked major peak-hour train delays in Brisbane’s north on Monday afternoon.

A broken down train has sparked major peak-hour delays in Brisbane’s north on Monday afternoon.

Translink says trains travelling in both directions on the Caboolture, Sunshine Coast and Redcliffe Peninsula lines have been affected by the broken down train at Virginia.

Delays of up to 60 minutes are expected.

The Northgate station platforms are packed with passengers with all northbound trains stopped.
