TWO Queenslander-style homes built in Mackay during the 1920s will be demolished to make way for high physical support townhouses.

The adjacent properties on about 1600sq m of land at 299 and 301 Shakespeare St have timber floors, tongue-in-groove walls and decorative ceilings.

But they will soon be gone as Mackay Regional Council has recently approved Trilogy Care Pty Ltd's proposal to build six 200-300sq m freehold properties on the site.
