MACKAY Regional Council will unveil a working example of a mobile app that will allow users to gain property and planning information by pointing their phone at a building or lot.
The app called "Point and Plan" is a $92,000 project funded by round 1 of State Government's Innovation and Improvement Fund.
Deputy Mayor Amanda Camm said the app is targeted at visiting developers, landowners, surveyors, valuers, real estate agents and "mum and dads".
"Development of that mobile platform is progressing and we're planning to unveil a working example soon," she said. Cr Camm said council is considering applying for more money in round 2 of the funding scheme, which has a shared pouch worth $1.95 million.
