Police have arrested and charged a woman after a teenager was allegedly stabbed multiple times at a Mackay unit early Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Sophia St about 3.30am.
Police alleged the teen’s attacker broke into her home during the night and attacked her.
A 19-year-old woman suffered stab multiple wounds to her arms and legs.
It is unknown what instrument was used to cause the wounds.
Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics were called to a private address where a teen had suffered wounds to her arms and legs.
She was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.
Mackay police have since arrested a 25-year-old Bucasia woman, who is now facing serious charges.
She is charged with break and enter at night and acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
It is understood the pair were known to each other.
The older woman will face Mackay Magistrates Court on Thursday.
