Police declare crime scene at Sarina home

Specialist police have been brought in and a crime scene declared at a Sarina home where a fire is believed to have been deliberately lit by children. PHOTOS

A crime scene has been declared at a Sarina home and specialist police will be attending after allegations schoolchildren deliberately lit a fire Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the Brandon St address about 8.25am for a fire at what is believed to be a vacant home.

It is understood the fire was started on the ground floor of the two-storey Queenslander.

Fire crews quickly put out the fire and a crime scene was declared by 9.55am.

Police have confirmed it is alleged the fire was lit by schoolchildren.

Police are standing guard at the site and scenes of crime officers have been called to inspect the scene.

Investigations into the fire are ongoing.
