Thieves have targeted two Archibald Street businesses in a 48-hour window, damaging a roller door and taking wallets.

The businesses are the latest to be hit in a spate of break-ins throughout the region.

A police spokesman said two wallets were stolen from cars parked inside a vehicle maintenance complex between Friday afternoon and Sunday morning.

He said the intruders had broken into the locked yard to reach the vehicles.

The spokesman said a second business had been targeted between 2pm and 2.30pm on Saturday.

Reports indicate the culprits had forced entry into the building through a roller door.

Police are still determining what was stolen and are continuing to investigate both incidents.
