Murder case again Ayden Jedd Bradshaw mentioned in court

The trial of a Queensland father accused of murdering his six-month-old son is expected to proceed in April with expert reports from the defence expected to be ready for examination by prosecutors soon. LATEST

There are still ongoing delays regarding expert evidence in the case against a Mackay father accused of killing his six-month-old son.

Ayden Jedd Bradshaw is charged with the murder of Beau Bradshaw, who died on June 4, 2020 after he was found unresponsive at his East Mackay home on June 2.

Mr Bradshaw was arrested that same year and remained in custody on remand until he was granted bail on strict conditions in December 2022.

The matter was briefly mentioned in Mackay Supreme Court on Monday when crown prosecutor Josh Phillips said there were ongoing issues regarding expert reports from the defence case.

Mr Phillips said efforts had been made for crown experts to also examine those reports, but there was still one outstanding and it was anticipated that would be finalised this coming week.

Defence barrister Scott McLennan confirmed it was anticipated there would be still be an application for a judge-alone trial as well a pre trial rulings on various issues.

Justice David North adjourned the matter until next week when it should be more clear what applications Mr McLennon would put forward.

Mr Bradshaw is currently on bail and the trial is expected to begin in late April.
