Detectives have seized a stash of cocaine and ecstasy following a targeted arrest against a man allegedly trafficking drugs in Mackay for 18 months.
The arrest occurred after police raided a Mount Pleasant home on May 30.
Mackay Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Eaton said officers alleged found and seized quantities of cocaine, marijuana and MDMA as well as items used in the trafficking of dangerous drugs.
“Police have arrested and charged a 24-year-old male person with trafficking in dangerous drugs,” Senior Sergeant Eaton said.
The man is further facing aggravated drug possession charges and possessing things used in drug crimes in relation to the alleged offending.
The maximum penalty for trafficking dangerous drugs is 25 years.
Both cocaine and MDMA are deemed schedule one drugs while marijuana is deemed a schedule two drug.
“Police will alleged that the male has been involved in the distribution of cocaine in the Mackay area for some 18 months,” senior sergeant Eaton said.
He was remanded in custody and the matter will return to Mackay Magistrates Court in July.
