Mackay teen e-scooter rider hit by car

Paramedics are attending to a 16-year-old after a car reportedly crashed into her escooter in a hit-and-run incident.

A 16 year old is suffering shooting pains in her leg after a car collided with the e-scooter she was riding.

It is understood the teen was riding an e-scooter in East Mackay when the crash occurred, with the driver not remaining at the scene.

It is reported a bystander took the teenager home but the pain escalated and required the attention of paramedics.

The incident comes just weeks after a 83-year-old man suffered critical injuries after his motorbike collided with an e-scooter crash the Whitsundays.

The Jubilee Pocket man had been riding his motorcycle sometime after 4pm on April 19 when it collided with an e-scooter rider.

The crash left him fighting for life.

He was taken to hospital in critical condition but died on the morning of Wednesday, May 3.

Police investigators have made an appeal to the public for any witnesses to the crash to come forward, especially motorists possessing dashcam footage and nearby businesses with CCTV camera footage.
