A crucial Mackay road is backed up after a chaotic five-car crash earlier this morning.
Queensland Ambulance was called to the corner Nebo Road and Griffin Street at around 8.45am for the pile up.
Both northbound lanes are closed northbound while cars get towed away.
Charmaine Loadman said it couldn’t have been a worse day when she was rammed by the four cars behind her.
“There was a car in front of me and it out their breaks on and I didn’t hit him thank goodness but everyone else hit me,” she said.
“We’re just a bit shaken up”
Jim, the driver of the white Ford Territory said she was moving to Proserpine when she ran into Ms Loadsman.
“It’s a total write off. So, we’re going for beers down at the Shamrock,” she said.
