The Daily Mercury put a call on its Facebook page in a quest to find the cutest baby and we were inundated with adorable photos of the Mackay region’s smallest residents.

Mums, dads and grandparents shared the reasons why their cherished little ones deserved the crown, whether it was because they overcame adversity in the first few weeks of their lives or simply because they could light up a room a smile.

Though we warn you, with 118 babies in the running, the poll may cause cluckiness or gushing.
