Andergrove roads closed after pedestrian and car collide

A car has collided with a pedestrian, closing streets near a Mackay high school.

A car has collided with a pedestrian near a Mackay high school, closing the surrounding streets.

Initial reports indicate the crash happened about 8.45am on the intersection of Bedford Road and Fernleigh Avenue near Andergrove State School.

Reports suggest a 63-year-old man has been injured and the car is lodged in the middle of the road.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene for head and neck pain.

He was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.
