Police open homicide investigation after man found dead in Lowood
A teenager has been charged with murder over the death of a father of three west of Brisbane earlier this week.

A teenager has been charged over the death of a Lowood father on January 2.
Detectives from Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch and Homicide Investigation Unit charged 19-year-old Kayde Desmond Gehrke with the murder of 35-year-old Jarryd Miller who was found unresponsive at his home in Lowood on January 2.
Emergency services were initially called to a Walnut Crescent address around 5am following after father Jarryd Miller was unresponsive at the property.
Police will allege the victim died as the result of a gunshot wound.
It will further be alleged the men were known to each other.
Gehrke, of Mount Beppo, was charged with murder.
He is expected to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court on January 4.
Police are continuing to appeal for information, including anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the vicinity of Walnut Crescent between midnight and 2am on January 2, to contact police.
Earlier, a murder investigation commenced after a man was found dead at a Lowood property, west of Brisbane, on Tuesday, January 2.
Emergency services attended a Walnut Crescent address around 5am following reports of an unresponsive man at the property.
Forensic investigators remained at the scene on Tuesday morning, with half of the street taped off.
Walnut Crescent residents say they were woken in early hours of the morning by the sounds of multiple emergency services vehicles arriving, including police and ambulance.
“I woke up to a car a bit after five in the morning fly around the corner,” one local said.
“I opened up my blinds and saw an ambulance drive past, then I’ve walked out the front and saw cops, upon cops,” she said.
The woman said a young family lived in the property where the incident occurred, including three children.
“The family was always pretty quiet…the kids and the mum weren’t home luckily,” she said.
The woman said another home on the street was broken into just before Christmas and that CCTV of the crime had been shared on the local community Facebook.
“He was found in the yard,” she said.
