Two trapped in rural crash on Traveston Rd

Two people have been cut free from the wreckage of their car after it plummeted 8m down an embankment at Traveston, near Gympie.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of the two-car crash on Traveston Rd, between Kenman and Riley roads, at 11.30am Monday morning.

Firefighters were forced to cut the pair from the car, with the woman freed shortly after midday.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the man has reportedly suffered an ankle injury in the crash.

No details are yet available about whether the woman, in her 40s, suffered any injuries.

Traffic is blocked in all directions.

It is the second crash on the rural road in a fortnight; a cement truck rolled over near the Traveston train station on Thursday November 18.
