The 43-year-old man, who cannot be named to protect the complainant’s identity, was acquitted by the jury the same day as proceedings wrapped up.

The court heard during proceedings the 43-year-old and the woman had met at the Canberra Tent Embassy several years ago before starting a relationship a few months later.

The jury ultimately found him not guilty of the lone count of rape he was standing trial for.
