Two people have escaped their vehicle after it became stuck in floodwaters in the Gympie region on Tuesday night.
After heavy rain across the Wide Bay in recent days, the incident unfolded in Fishermans Pocket about 7.30pm.
Emergency services were contacted and told a vehicle’s headlights could be seen in the floodwaters and two people were in danger.
But the people were able to escape the floodwaters and emergency service crews were not required, a spokeswoman from the Queensland Police Service said.
“All people are safe,” she said.
It comes as the search continues in Burrum Heads for a missing man.
Paul Kearns, 77, was last seen at an address on Riverview Drive, Burrum Heads between 3.30pm and 4.30pm on Monday.
Rural Fire Brigade, SES personnel and emergency services recommenced search efforts on Tuesday morning around the Burrum Heads River and Riverview Drive area.
Residents are urged to check their properties, structures, boats, cars, and trailers for signs of Paul.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact police immediately.
