Nambour man Adam Lindsay Lenaghan pleaded guilty to going armed to cause fear.
The father acknowledged his actions frightened the gym owners and their customers, the Gympie Magistrates Court heard.
Around midday on September 7, 2022, Lenaghan was outside the Simm City Performance Centre with a bat in hand, the court heard.

He held out the bat in an aggressive manner while yelling several times, “you and me outside” to the owner and then “banged the bat onto the concrete before taking a step towards the entrance in a hostile manner.
He raised the bat again and walked away towards his house,” prosecutor Sergeant Christie Mahoney said.
Lenaghan admitted he went to the gym with the bat, telling police about the ongoing noise issue and his frustrations as a seasoned night shift worker, the court heard.
“There was no suggestion the he would enter the building to deliver the threat,” solicitor Lisa Taylor, who represented Lenaghan, said.
There was a history between Lenaghan, his other neighbours and the gym in relation to the excessive noise of cars and music coming, along with the banging weights reverberating in his house, Ms Taylor said.
“He has approached the council and other bodies to try and resolve the issue as has his other neighbours in the area,” she said.
“On the day of the incident, his toddler was unwell and had been woken three times - he’d been worrying and had just lost his temper.
“He says in hindsight he should not have done that.”
The Nambour man had consented to a peaceable behaviour order with the gym, was leaning on a good support network through this job at Nambour Hospital and had an unblemished criminal history, the court heard.
Lenaghan was sentenced to a 12-month good behaviour bond of $400. No convictions were recorded.
