Letter to the Editor

I am sorry Ms Buckland, but is you who missed the point in my response.

Let me make it again more briefly. Despite her provocative declaration, “Gender equality in Local Councils- Think again”, Cr Jensen gave no evidence to support it.

Her letter referred to salary inequities against which she unsuccessfully campaigned in a past career in banking.

There was also a considerable amount of autobiography which was equally irrelevant. There was nothing about gender inequity in local councils.

And, I am sorry to say, your letter, with all the self-evident commentary about disadvantaged workers in Australian society and your comparison of the gender representation policies of the major political parties is well out of court.
With respect, you attempt, too late, to “ put words into Cr Jensen’s mouth”.
You also fail to put any substance to Cr Jensen’s challenging “ Gender Equity in Local Councils— Think again.”
