Matthew Lawrence Grimstone refused bail in Gympie court
A 26-year-old Gympie concreter has faced court accused of stealing number plates, and possessing two weapons and more than 20g of meth.

A 26-year-old Gympie man was denied bail in custody in Gympie Magistrates Court on Tuesday for eight charges including possession of more than 20g of meth, two air guns, and stolen number plates.
Matthew Lawrence Grimstone entered no plea as he was escorted to the dock by a police officer. He leaned against the back of the dock with his arms folded across his chest throughout his appearance.
There was only one supporter in the public gallery, revealed to be his partner.

He was charged with eight offences, including burglary, two counts of possessing meth, breaking and entering, possessing a utensil, receiving tainted firearms or ammunition, and two counts of unlawfully possessing weapons.
While the details of Mr Grimstone’s charges were not repeated, the police prosecutor alleged Mr Grimstone was in possession of an air rifle and a gel blaster or an air pistol, more than 20g of meth, and stolen number plates.
Mr Grimstone denied the substances found were meth, and said it was not confirmed what the second weapon found was.
He was denied bail and remanded to Gympie Magistrates Court on September 20.
