Emergency crews are working to free a man left trapped in his car after it crashed about 10km southwest of Gympie.

Emergency crews are working to free a man in his 50s left trapped after his car crashed on a rural Gympie region road.

Paramedics and fireys were called to scene of the crash about 10km southwest of Gympie just after 2.50pm.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the man was trapped in the wreck of his car after it rolled down an embankment at Marys Creek while he was driving along Marys Creek Rd.

She said efforts were underway to cut the man free, but no injuries had yet been reported.
