Gympie woman wins $1.2 million in Saturday Lotto

A Gympie woman who took astrology advice from her mum has wound up winning the $1.2 million division one prize from the Saturday Lotto, and her reaction is priceless.

Holding one of the four division one winning entries for draw 4513 on October 19, she is now looking forward to cashing in on her astronomical $1,264,652.43 win from the 18-game QuickPick which was purchased through The Lott’s phone app.

Feeling thrilled and buzzing with excitement, she has no issues planning what she’d like to spend her winnings on: an overseas trip with her child.

Completely oblivious to her winnings, she received a phone call from a lottery official on Monday morning to advise she was now a millionaire.

“Get f*****! I have tears in my eyes!” was her initial reaction to the news.

“I had no idea! I can’t believe it. I don’t know how to process this.

“My mum is really into star signs, and she told me that I should purchase a lottery ticket because it’s in a lucky period. I don’t purchase tickets regularly; this is a one-off,” she said.

“I was actually at my parents’ house last night for dinner, and I had just come back from some time off, and I said to them, ‘Oh, I guess I haven’t won anything on Lotto, so I’m going back to work’.

“I always talk about how good it would be to win division one with my parents, but we never think about it coming true.

“This is insane. I’m in shock.

“I am at work today, and I think I’m going to struggle to concentrate. I called my partner before and told him the news and there was a lot of swearing. He kept saying, ‘Are you for real? Is this legit?’

The Gympie local is one of four division one winners, with the cash prize totalling $1,264,652.43.

There were four division one winning entries across Australia in Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, and Western Australia with the winning numbers 26, 15, 33, 43, 22 and 5 with the supplementary numbers 4 and 11.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 364 so far in 2024, including 72 won by Golden Casket customers.

In the current 2024 financial year, TattsLotto created 158 millionaires nationally.

So far there have been 291 division-one winners for the Saturday Gold Lotto across Australia that collectively won more than $436 million.
