Gympie’s annual Music Muster, one of Australia’s top country music festivals, has announced its stellar line-up of more than 100 acts across the genres of country, roots, blues, folk and rock music.
What’s on offer?
The event, staged at Amamoor State Forest from August 22-25, will be a “vibrant and inclusive festival experience for attendees of all ages,” according to a Music Muster media release.
Attendees can opt in for a camping package, granting them access to the camping venue from four days before the festival’s start date.
Refreshments and entertainment will be available during this pre-muster period.
During the festival, free workshops from the industry’s most celebrated artists will be available, including dance lessons for those interested in rock n roll, clogging, barn dancing, and line dancing.
Markets will sell fashion items, accessories, gifts, and knick-knacks, as well as camping and outdoor accessories.
Food stalls will also be available, including options for those with dietary requirements.
Attendees can take part in a variety of activities – ranging from breakfast with Bush Poets, and interviews with artists, to bull riding.
The artists
Muster Chief Executive Greg Cavanagh has highlighted diversity and depth in the 2024 line-up.
“In total, we’ve got 140 artists including an awesome blues line-up,” Mr Cavanagh said in the media release.
“It’s a really solid program with a great mix of genres and legendary Australian artists.”

She has produced eight albums, extensively toured Australia, won 13 Golden Guitar Awards, and received three ARIA nominations.

They produced a debut album The Song Club in 2021, which was nominated for four Golden Guitars and an ARIA.

“Understated but never unsophisticated, unpretentious and unlike anything else, Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham are poised to unleash songs and stories of undeniable beauty upon hearts and ears,” she says.
Casey Barnes
Casey Barnes was presented with his first ARIA Gold Record earlier this year for God Took His Time On You.
His most recent single Miracles became the third track from his album to hit number one on Countrytown’s Top 50.
Mr Barnes said in the release this year’s Muster was “even more special” for him than previous years as he had a new album out and a live show on the way.
He “there’s no festival like Muster in Australia”, he said.
Melanie Dyer
According to her website, Melanie Dyer is in the Top 10 on the Australian Country Hot 50 radio charts with her latest single Run Out Of Road.
Melanie Dyer said she is beyond excited to play at the 2024 event.
“My last one was back in 2017 so I’ve got plenty of new music to share and I’m pumped to make some new Muster mates,” said the Muster veteran.
“I have the best memories of being huddled around the fire drums sharing laughs and stories with people from far and wide,” she continues.
“It reminds me of growing up as a kid on a farm and strumming my guitar around the campfire with my family.”
