A man in his 60s was taken to Gympie hospital in a stable condition, after his boat overturned in waters off Tin Can Bay last Friday.

A 61-year-old man was taken to Gympie hospital in a stable condition, after his boat overturned in waters off Tin Can Bay on Friday June 16.

A Hervey Bay Water Police spokesman said they located the occupant in the water clinging to the submerged vessel at 4pm.
A Queensland Police spokesman said with assistance from a Queensland Boating and Fisheries Patrol officer, the man was pulled safely on board the police boat, administered first aid and was transported to the snapper Creek Boat Ramp.

“He was treated for hypothermia and taken to Gympie Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” he said.
