A teenage boy is fighting for life in hospital after being struck by a car at Canina.
According to police, about 3.45pm, the 14-year-old boy was crossing Tin Can Bay Road near the Grimley Rd intersection when he was struck by a Hyundai i30.
The teenage boy suffered a serious head injury and was flown by helicopter to the Queensland Children’s Hospital, South Brisbane in a critical condition.
The 27-year-old female driver of the Hyundai was not physically injured.
Traffic was left at a standstill as emergency services worked to treat the boy at the scene.
Tin Can Bay Road was closed for investigations until about 7pm.
Forensic Crash Unit are investigating and asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam and was travelling on Tin Can Bay Road about 3.45pm to contact police.
