‘Trisha’ Anne Condon killed in crash at Bororen, Bruce Hwy

The latest victim of a crash on a notorious stretch of the Bruce Hwy has been identified as a much-loved mum, wife and Nana who was awaiting the birth of her 16th grandchild.

The loss of a “dearly loved” mother of seven and grandma of 15 is being felt across Central Queensland after yet another Bruce Hwy tragedy.

Patricia Anne Condon, 62, was travelling on the highway when her car and a truck collided on April 11.

‘Trisha’ as she was known to family and friends died at the scene not far from Shallow Falls, Bororen where she raised her large family, previously worked at a local hotel motel and was well-known in her community.

Past pictures on her social media reflect a love of animals and show her playfully handling carpet pythons.

In a notice published by Gladstone Valley Funerals, Trisha, who was expecting her 16th grandchild was said to have been “tragically taken too soon”.

She was remembered as a “much loved wife and soulmate to Grahame, dearly loved mother to Aime’e, April, Naomi, Katie, Ashley, Murray and Emma, adored Nana to 15.5 grandchildren, cherished daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunty and a great friend to many”.

Tributes have flooded Facebook in the wake of the news.

Among them was a message from Fiona Longhurst who wrote “I can’t believe you have transitioned Trisha, our hearts and the world are a little less bright now. All our love and prayers to Grahame and all the family”.

Debra Robinson described Trisha as a “beautiful lady” who would be missed by many and paid her respects to Grahame and his family after such a very, very sad loss”.

Sending “sincere condolences” to the family, Cathy Browning described Trisha as “such a gentle soul gone too soon” while

Janine Kelly-Jasinski said: “all Trisha’s loved ones and friends have been in my thoughts. Just so devastating”.

A funeral date is yet to be announced.
