Reed James Bligh’s package of performance enhancing drugs was found by police, landing him in the Gladstone Magistrates Court.

Police prosecutor Kelvin Boyd said police found a suspicious parcel through Australia Post in Rockhampton on September 15.

He said the parcel contained testosterone and 20 tablets of clomiphene.

Duty lawyer Bianca Wieland said Bligh had lived in Gladstone for the past nine years and was a business owner.

“He was just trying to cut a corner with his own health,” she said.

Magistrate Bevan Manthey told the court this was the third incident of performance enhancing drugs through the courts in the past couple of months.

Bligh pleaded guilty to attempting to commit a drug possession offence and attempting to unlawfully possess a controlled drug.

Mr Manthey fined him $500 and ordered him to forfeit the drugs. The convictions were not recorded.

He came before the court with no previous history.
