Biloela Police are urging the community to stay away from the Callide Dam wall and the power station inlet tower following reports of people using rope swings and jumping from the structure.

Sunwater staff have seen people making the rope swings and jumping off.

They have warned that the current water level is low enough that if the power station inlet pumps are activated, it is highly likely that anyone nearby will be sucked into the inlet and through the pump machinery.

This section of the dam is a restricted area, with a 200m exclusion zone marked by buoys and signs.

Accessing the land is strictly prohibited, and trespassers will face enforcement action.
