The Gladstone Marina Parklands were a cloud of colour on Sunday morning as keen supporters gathered to participate in the Colour Me Capricorn fun run for the RACQ CapRescue.
Sponsored by Shell QGC Business, Jemema, Gladstone Regional Council and Blackwoods, more than $14,000 was raised through the event.
The money will go directly towards RACQ CapRescue’s vital operations, from search and rescue missions, transfers and primary and motor vehicle incidents.
Last month, the helicopter rescue service, which has been operating for 26 years, surpassed 10,000 rescues.
Over the weekend of September 10, the RACQ CapRescue were out in the 350,000 km2 region when Air Crew Office Dave Paterson realised they had performed their 9999th rescue.
