A Rockhampton business has gone from strength to strength, outgrowing its old shop front and opening its doors at a brand new location.
H and Co Emporium, a boutique based in Wandal, opened the doors of its new shopfront to customers for the first time on October 9.
For the past four years the store has been located in Wandal Plaza, with the new store opening on Wandal Rd in the old Drifter and the Gypsy space.
Owner of the business Natasha Cullen and her mum Di West have been run off their feet welcoming customers, old and new, to their new space.
“We outgrew the space we were in quite some time ago, so we have been looking for a new space for a while, but we didn’t want to leave the area,” she said.
“We knew this one was coming up so we jumped at it, it’s a much bigger space.”
With the help of friends and family the move only took a week, with business at the old site uninterrupted during the process.
The new store has dressing rooms towards the back of the store, better store rooms for stock and even a courtyard where Natasha and her mum Di can chat with customers keen for a powwow.
“We grew up in Wandal and it’s become a real community,” she said.
“The pharmacy is here, IGA is a big draw card, the post office and newsagency as well.
“We’ve had really good feedback, particularly about the space and the feel of it when you walk in. The private dressing rooms have been a big thing because a lot of ladies don’t like walking into a shop front when they’re not sure about what they’re wearing.
“They (customers) particularly love the courtyard because we have customers that like to sit down and stay for a chat, and mum is always up for a chat.”
Natasha said their growth was thank to the support the store received from the community.
“We’re so grateful,” she said.
“It’s really the customers that do it for us, we couldn’t do it without them.
“Everyday we think of how blessed and grateful we are that we get to do what we love and we get so much good feedback.”
