Driver dies after car crashes into tree in Gladstone region

Police have shared some insight into a fatal single vehicle crash that tragically took the life of the female driver overnight.

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating a fatal crash on the Dawson Highway at Beecher on May 29.

A female driver has died in a horror highway crash in the Gladstone region.

The single vehicle incident occurred just before 6.30pm Thursday, May 29 on the Dawson Highway at Beecher.

Police said the driver lost control of the Toyota Rav 4 and crashed into a tree.

Multiple emergency crews were called with paramedics assessing the driver, a woman, with significant life-threatening injuries.

Tragically she died at the scene.

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating to determine how the crash occurred.

This tragedy comes barely two weeks after another driver was killed in a single vehicle rollover at Colosseum near Miriam Vale, also in the Gladstone region on May 14.

Emergency crews were called to the Bruce Highway about 6.50am after a driver suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.

This brings the road toll on Capricornia District road to eight in 2025.
